Hey there! We haven’t posted for a while as we had a Feelgood Family Adventure in Japan. Here is the first of several blogs where we will take you from the lights and bustle of Tokyo to the tranquility of Kyoto via the fun of Osaka so hope you stick with us and enjoy.

Tokyo Tower – A Kaleidoscope of Colors
As the sun began to set, we found ourselves standing in awe before the iconic Tokyo Tower. It was a breathtaking sight! The towering structure, painted in striking orange and white, stood tall against the darkening sky. I could hardly believe we were about to venture to the top of this architectural marvel!
Once inside, we hopped into the elevator and were whisked away to the main observatory deck. The view from up there was absolutely mesmerizing! Tokyo’s city lights sparkled like stars, and famous landmarks like Tokyo Skytree and Rainbow Bridge seemed like jewels in the urban landscape.
But the real magic happened as night fell. The Tokyo Tower transformed into a kaleidoscope of colors! It was as if the tower itself came alive, pulsating with vibrant hues that changed every few minutes. We were lucky enough to witness the “Diamond Veil” lighting display, and it was simply breathtaking. We took a million pictures, but none of them truly captured the beauty of that moment.
Don Quijote Discount Store – Shopping Wonderland
Close to our hotel in Roppongi, the rather excellent Mitsui Garden Hotel Roppongi was a branch of the legendary Don Quijote Discount Store,. Which can be found all over Tokyo including the world famous shopping district of Shibuya as well as the rest of Japan. Oh boy, it was a shopping wonderland like no other!
As we stepped inside, the sheer variety of goods amazed us. From quirky souvenirs to trendy fashion items, cosmetics, and even electronics – they had it all! The aisles were packed with people excitedly browsing through the bargains, and the atmosphere was buzzing with energy.
We lost ourselves in the maze of products, discovering hidden gems at every turn. And let me tell you, the discounts were unbeatable! We loaded our shopping cart with goodies, taking advantage of the tax-free shopping offer. It was like a shopping spree dream come true!
Zojoji Temple – A Haven of Serenity
We craved a moment of tranquility amidst the city’s hustle and bustle. So, we made our way to the serene Zojoji Temple, just a short walk from Tokyo Tower.
As we approached the temple grounds, the busy city noise faded away, replaced by a sense of peace. The main gate and the impressive five-storied pagoda stood tall, welcoming visitors to this sacred place. It felt like stepping back in time, surrounded by the rich history of Tokyo.
The temple grounds were beautifully maintained, with a serene garden, a cemetery with rows of stone statues, and small shrines dotted around. We took our time, soaking in the spiritual ambiance, and even tried our hand at traditional Japanese customs of purification and bowing.
In the tranquil surroundings, we felt a deep sense of calm and reflection. It was a perfect way to end our eventful evening in Tokyo.
